Gutters
On Vancouver Island, your gutters move a lot of water. Island Roofers manufactures seamless 5" and 6" continuous aluminum gutters on site in the colour of your trim, and installs downpipes sized for real West Coast rainfall — not catalogue minimums.

A roof system, not just a product.
- Seamless 5" and 6" aluminum gutters
- Hidden-hanger fastening for clean fascia lines
- Leaf protection systems
- Downpipe extensions and splash blocks
Sized for our rain
Many older gutters were sized for inland climates. We upsize where roof area demands it so water actually reaches the downpipe.

How a gutters project actually runs.
- 1
Measure & quote
We measure linear footage, count corners and downpipes, and quote a fixed price including colour-matched gutter and downpipe.
- 2
Tear-off & fascia check
Old gutters removed, fascia inspected for rot, and repaired or replaced before new gutter installation.
- 3
On-site forming
Continuous gutters are rolled on site to the exact length of each run — eliminating seams that eventually leak.
- 4
Hidden-hanger install
Hidden internal hangers screwed every 24" for a clean fascia line and a gutter that holds heavy West Coast snow loads.

Gutters questions, answered.
What is the difference between 5" and 6" gutters?+
Six-inch gutters carry roughly 40% more water than 5" gutters. We recommend 6" gutters for any home with a large roof area, steep pitches, or significant tree exposure — which is most homes on Vancouver Island.
Do seamless gutters really not leak?+
Seamless gutters eliminate leaks at the field joints, which is where almost all gutter leaks begin. The only joints are at corners and downpipes, which are sealed with manufacturer-approved gutter sealant.
Is leaf protection worth it?+
On Vancouver Island, yes — especially under cedar, fir or arbutus trees. Quality leaf protection (micromesh or reverse-curve) significantly reduces cleaning frequency and prevents the gutter clogs that cause fascia rot and basement flooding.
How much do seamless gutters cost?+
On Vancouver Island, seamless 5" aluminum gutters typically run $11 – $15 per linear foot installed; 6" gutters $14 – $19 per linear foot. Downpipes and leaf protection are quoted separately.
Can you replace just my gutters without redoing the roof?+
Yes — gutter-only replacements are a large part of our work. We can often complete a typical home in a single day.
